With the idea of filming your own wedding being totally new to Australia you are bound to have lots of questions. Here is a list of our most frequently asked questions but if this does not answer your question please drop us a line.

    • Do you offer a service where you send someone to film the weddings?

      No we believe you can get the best result if you Film Your Own. It will be more authentic and you will not be restricted by the presence of the videographer. The cameras are easy to use and we will be on the end of the phone to offer advice to your chosen camera operators.
    • How much does the Film Your Own Package cost?

      Our package costs $999.95 and includes 4 day hire of the video camera, the review of 4 hours of footage and a fully edited 30 minute highlight video that tells the story of your day. Not to mention a 3 minute best bits clip suitable for social media and the online training of your chosen camera people.     • Can we take the camera overseas?

      Definitely! The video camera must be sent to an address within Australia but can be carried on flights as hand luggage. The package includes four days of hire but extra days can be added at an additional cost.
    • Do you offer an 'edit only' service?

    • Can we hire your services for other events?

    • Will cameras be available for my wedding date?

      Dates do book up fast so we advise that you book as soon as possible to secure your dates and make sure we have cameras available. Please fill in your preferred date of hire and we will be in touch to confirm availability.
    • What are your payment terms?

      We ask for 50% of the total cost of the package at the time of booking (this secures the date) and the remaining 50% three weeks prior to the wedding/event date. We'll send you a reminder 4 weeks before the event date so that you don't forget!
    • How will the camera be delivered to me?

      The cameras are sent by a reputable national courier company 2 days before your wedding. The cameras will then be collected the first working day after the wedding between 9am and 6pm so they must be left with someone who is at the given address all day.
    • Does the camera have to be sent to my house or can it be sent to another location?

      The equipment can be delivered to an address of your choosing providing there is someone available to sign for delivery. Someone must also be available on the business day following the wedding for couriers to collect the equipment. If the courier is unable to collect on the stated day you will be charged for an extra days hire.
    • Do we have to package the cameras?

      Cameras come in a hard case to protect them in transit. We will include instructions for how to return them.
    • What if the camera doesn't turn up?

      The camera is sent two days prior to your wedding (depending on location). In the unlikely event that the camera fails to turn up it will be delivered the following day, which will still be in time for your wedding.

      In the HIGHLY unlikely event of them still not being able to deliver the camera, a full refund will be offered, or a discount on your package and smartphone footage used to film the day,

      We cannot be held responsible for lack of filming as a result of circumstances that are beyond our control e.g. weather. We will also not provide refunds where couriers were unable to deliver due to unclear delivery instructions or no one being available at the address provided to sign for the package.
    • How will my friends and family know what to film?

      Everything you need to know about filming your own wedding video is covered in our online tutorials which you'll be given access to one week prior to your wedding. You'll be able to share this link with all of the cameramen/women and it not only covers the basics of operating the camera but also what to film and how to make it fun.
    • Are the cameras difficult to use?

      The cameras have been chosen for their quality and ease of use. Cameras are preset to auto mode so all you have to do is press record.
    • What if we have a problem with the camera on the day?

      Cameras are tested prior to sending and batteries fully charged before going out. You will also be provided with a contact telephone number for technical advice on the day. As cameras arrive two days prior to the wedding this is plenty of time for your camerapeople to familiarise themselves with the camera and in the unlikely event of technical difficulties there will be time to rectify these before your big day!
    • What if the camera gets broken? Are we insured?

      Hiring our video camera is no different to hiring a car. The cameras are insured by us in case of theft or damage however there is a $300 excess, which is payable by you, should we have to make a claim. We do of course allow for wear and tear but if the camera looks like it has been dropped or suffered an impact of any kind, we will need to send it for a full service which you will be liable for and any missing bits of kits will also have to be replaced.
    • What if the footage is terrible?

      As long as you assign the camera to a handful of your closest friends the footage won’t be terrible. They care about you and want to do their very best to capture your big day. Most people are honoured to be entrusted with the job of filming your wedding and take that obligation to you seriously. It is not as hard as others would have you believe. The real skill with videography lies in the edit. We are confident that with our online tutorials and user-friendly equipment even those with a very limited understanding of cameras can capture some fabulous footage.
    • How will you know what we'd like included?

      We liaise very closely with you prior to the wedding to make sure we have a good understanding of what is important to you. All the main parts of the day will be included. We also watch all of the footage and pick out funny moments, personal messages, and all of the in-jokes that go on without you even realising. What makes the finished video is down to our creative licence and with our extensive experience in editing corporate and music videos we know what to look for to make your video a standout!
    • Are we able to pick our own music and at what point do you need this?

      You are allowed to choose all of your own music and tell us where you would like us to use it. Three weeks before the wedding you will be asked to fill out a briefing questionnaire, music choices will form part of the questionnaire.
    • Are we allowed to make changes once our video has been edited?

      Additional fees will apply for any changes you require after the final edit as this is a time consuming process.
    • How long will it take before I get my edited video?

      Due to the high demand for our services it can take up to 6 to 8 weeks to receive your finished video. In most cases it will be done quicker but if you are in a hurry to see the video or have a specific deadline by which you require your video we do offer priority processing (additional fees apply – see Packages).
    • What influence do we have over the finished video?

      We welcome your input. This is your video and we want it to reflect you and be something you will be happy with and proud to show off. We ask for your ideas in our briefing questionnaire that is sent out three weeks prior to the wedding.
    • What do we get on the finished video and what is the running time?

      Your wedding highlights video will run for up to 30 minutes and will tell the story of your day, from getting ready, to the ceremony, the speeches and the after party. We do also give you the option to include the chapters for the Ceremony and the Speeches in full. You also receive a 3 minutes Best Bits clip which is perfect for social media.
    • How do we make a booking?
